Project Description:
The Morocco Economic Competitiveness Program (MEC) was a four-year USAID-funded economic growth program that took a multi-sectoral approach to reduce barriers to productivity, trade, and investment in Morocco.
Provided Services:
ECO Consult provided technical assistance to MEC during its program lifecycle in:
- Improving the capacity of key Government of Morocco institutions to implement water/agricultural policies
- Developing institutional and operational structures for agricultural wastewater reuse at the regional level (Meknes and Oriental)
- Finalizing and supporting the implementation of treated wastewater reuse schemes in the Meknes agricultural pilot project
- Completing a feasibility study on the wastewater reuse downstream of the wastewater treatment plants in Oujda (replication of the Meknes study
- Facilitating the creation of a partnership between selected organizations within the Government of Morocco and the Royal Hashemite Government of Jordan.
